On March 13, Kelvin Rorive from CCRC joined the online expert session organized by VMRG. Together with Remco Visser, ICT Manager at Rollecate, and Henk Zoontjes, he shared insights and experiences in the field of cybersecurity.
11 questions about cybersecurity
VMRG is an association of façade builders that, through collaboration with its partners in the industry, aims to provide optimal comfort for the end user. This means they work closely with supply chain partners. With increasing digitalization, more and more companies are connected online—and that brings risks.
During the knowledge session, all key aspects of a cyberattack were covered. Topics included how to respond during an attack, the steps you can take to prepare for a potential incident, and where the responsibility for cybersecurity lies within an organization.
A cyberattack – now what?
Remco, unfortunately, has firsthand experience with cyberattacks—his organization was hit by a ransomware attack. The source of the attack was a supplier whose email system had been hacked. “It quickly became clear that we no longer had access to our files and that data had been stolen. We also found a file in several places from the hackers demanding ransom,” he explained.

Want to get started with cyber exercises yourself?
In collaboration with CCRC, VMRG offers an interactive cyber crisis exercise. During this three-hour session, participants are presented with a realistic cyber simulation scenario.
Here’s what you’ll gain as a participant in the session:
- Knowledge about cyberattacks;
- Information on how to act in the event of a cyberattack;
- Concrete tips on how to act more consciously in preventing a cyberattack;
- Advice on how to encourage awareness and vigilance in cybersecurity.
The exercise will take place on Wednesday afternoon, May 8, in Nieuwegein. Click here for more information and to register.
