On October 3 and 4, CCRC participated for the first time with its own stand at The ONE Conference, an event that can be considered a reunion of professionals in the field of information security and cybersecurity. It was a fascinating experience in which CCRC was able to share its mission continuously for two days: strengthening the cyber resilience of the Netherlands. In this blog, we showcase some highlights of The ONE Conference as experienced by CCRC.
Networking
We hadn’t entirely anticipated this beforehand, but we didn’t have a single quiet moment at our stand! A constant flow of people resulted in two days of interesting conversations, new (international) connections, and widespread communication of our mission as CCRC. Our intention to provide regular updates from the expo floor via LinkedIn to everyone who unfortunately couldn’t be at The ONE didn’t work out. It was simply too busy with interested visitors. . After two days, we were exhausted, hoarse, but enormously satisfied and full of energy to get more organizations to start practicing!
CCRC Book Launch
This was, of course, the highlight of The ONE for us; the book launch of our CCRC handbook. With pride, Eric-Jan de Roode and Kelvin Rorive presented the Handbook for Practicing a Cyber Crisis: “CYBER CRISIS? DON’T PANIC” to Michel Verhagen, manager at the Digital Trust Center, during The ONE Conference.
Michel Verhagen emphasized: “Cyber exercises are crucial to making the Netherlands more cyber-resilient. CCRC strongly contributes to this mission with their various services and knowledge documents. The handbook helps organizations set up cyber crisis exercises.”
The handbook was created by combining the knowledge of experts with extensive experience in crisis management and is specifically developed to assist the CISO and anyone responsible for security in setting up crisis exercises.

Getting to Know Other Projects / Initiatives
Despite having less time than expected to visit other stands and presentations, it was interesting to learn about other initiatives and projects in the cyber sector. Because, if The ONE Conference made one thing clear, it’s that there are fortunately many of them! A good example to mention is the ‘Melissa’ covenant, which was signed by various organizations such as our partner NFIR, as well as the Dutch Police, Cyberveilig Nederland, the Public Prosecution Service, and several private parties. Melissa is a collaboration between public and private parties to combat ransomware attacks. The joint goal of this alliance is to make the Netherlands an unattractive target for ransomware criminals.
All in all, a great experience for the CCRC team, we’ll be back next year!
