With that powerful statement from CCRC initiator Kelvin Rorive, journalist William Visterin opens his article that recently appeared on Computable. The piece is part of a special security summer series leading up to Cybersec Netherlands, which takes place on September 10 and 11 at Jaarbeurs Utrecht.
Kelvin Rorive, CISO at ICT Group and co-founder of the Cyber Chain Resilience Consortium (CCRC), immediately sets the tone: more collaboration, more trust and more transparency are essential in the world of cybersecurity. In the article, he gives a preview of his keynote on September 10, during the main program of Cybersec Netherlands.
His session “Building Cyber Resilience: Collaborating with Soulmates Across Chains to the Boardroom” focuses on breaking down traditional silos. True cyber resilience emerges when organizations proactively share threat intelligence, incident lessons and approaches, not after an incident, but beforehand. Transparency is not seen as a risk, but as a strategic tool to stand stronger together. He speaks about ‘soulmates’: colleagues from other organizations with whom you openly and informally exchange experiences.
Additionally, the changing role of the CISO is addressed. Kelvin warns against a too one-sided focus on compliance, and emphasizes that cybersecurity is increasingly intertwined with broader business strategy. With the rise of AI, IT/OT integration and increasing connectivity, the role of the CISO shifts to that of strategic connector. This is much more than just technical guardian.
