The members of the Amstelveen entrepreneurs’ association will tell you! On November 17, a Cyber Boost Session was organized in collaboration with Platform Veilig Ondernemen (PVO) and the Ondernemersvereniging Amstelveen. During this intensive and interactive three-hour session, entrepreneurs had the opportunity to learn how to act during a cyber crisis together with experts. Read in this blog how the entrepreneurs experienced the session.
Realistic Practice Scenarios and Interaction with Experts
According to the entrepreneurs, one of the key points of the Cyber Boost Session is the realistic practice scenario guided by leading professionals in the field. They had the chance to work in groups on solving a realistic simulated cyber crisis, where the focus was not only on technical aspects but also on the impact on business operations.
Participant Eduard Hoekstra emphasized the practical nature of the session: “The session was practical, accessible, and interactive. I became more aware of the necessity of cybersecurity. The interactive session was an educational group game: a lifelike simulation of a hack! In short: a fun afternoon where much was learned.”
Additionally, participant Olinda Christian from BODYLINE NUTRITIONS INT. emphasized an overarching perspective on the session: “On Entrepreneur’s Day, I was able to attend a very educational workshop on cybercrime. We learned to create an action plan, and even more interesting was learning that there are possibilities to protect our online business.”
Sandra Bauer from GreenLeap Consultancy indicated that with the CCRC training, she learned a lot about the digital chain approach and is now better able to secure their workflow. “With the serious gaming approach, we practiced how to appropriately conduct conversations with service providers. When cyber resilience is at stake, we are not only dependent on online services but also on the extent to which we invoke our rights while maintaining professional relationships.”

Insight into Cyber Resilience and Risk Awareness
Lambert Hofstra, working as a security consultant at KPN, experienced the Cyber Boost Session as follows: “Being prepared for a cyber attack is important for all companies, whether you have little or much security implemented.” He emphasized the importance of knowing how to act during a cyber crisis, given the increasingly complex nature of direct and indirect attacks. Hofstra added: “It was a huge eye-opener for many participants and a safe way of raising awareness (learning from an incident without your company actually being in crisis). It’s good that CCRC simulates this. By being aware of your risks, you can also take measures.”
Recommended for Every Entrepreneur
Referring to his own experience, Hofstra concluded: “It’s a relatively small investment for the knowledge you gain during the session. Recommended for every entrepreneur.” The Cyber Boost Session thus proves to be not only an educational experience but also a valuable investment in increasing awareness around cybersecurity, an essential aspect in today’s world.
